Meet Dr. Lidral

Dr. Lidral

Welcome to my practice!  I absolutely love orthodontics.  Meeting people, learning their life stories and working with an excellent staff, all in a caring, friendly, and fun filled environment is my passion.  I find that a joy-filled, light-hearted clinic environment is very important for excellent patient care.  Making a difference in people’s lives is one of the most rewarding aspects of my life.   I can’t imagine myself doing anything else.

Education and Academics
I received my bachelor degrees at the University of Wisconsin – Madison and my DDS at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill, where I developed an interest in orthodontics, facial embryology and clinical care for patients with facial birth defects.  I completed my Orthodontic residency at the University of Iowa, where, as part of the National Institutes of Health Dentist-Scientist program, I also earned my PhD.  I taught in the Orthodontic Department at the Ohio State University for 5 years before being recruited back to Orthodontic Department at the University of Iowa where I achieved the rank of full professor.  After 20 successful years in academic Orthodontics, I am dedicating my career to full-time patient care, because I’m a clinician at heart.

My goal is to give my patients excellent care using state of the art technologies with a personalized approach.  I believe each person is unique – both in their qualities and world view.  I have a deep compassion for the lives of others and welcome people of all walks of life.  I will take the time to know and understand you so that I can meet your unique dental health needs while providing you with a beautiful smile.

Continuing Education
To provide my patients with the latest technology and treatment choices, I attend continuing education courses year-round.  My patients deserve the best, and continuing education allows me to provide patients with more options, better results and faster treatment times.  In addition to going to professional conferences, I have given numerous continuing education lectures to other orthodontists.

Outside of the Office
I grew up in the close-knit, small town of Rhinelander in Northern Wisconsin.  I spent summer vacations at Lake Michigan and many trips visiting Algoma, Wisconsin, a small fishing community on the Lake where my father grew up.   I come from a large family consisting of 6 sisters and me.  I have 3 wonderful children of my own.  People describe me as being honest, hard-working and genuine.   I’m known for being deeply compassionate about the lives of others.  I believe bringing a smile to someone during their day brings warmth to both their heart and mine.   I look forward to working with you and your family.

  • Renae Uturo
    Orthodontic Assistant

Renae has been working at Lidral Orthodontics since October 2017. She brings 6 years of orthodontic assisting experience and an additional 9 years as a dental assistant.  She obtained her Dental assistant training at the Olympia Career Training Institute in Grand Rapids.

Most recently she worked as a receptionist for our neighbors, the Center for Oral Surgery and Dental Implants where she gained invaluable knowledge about the front office aspects of a dental clinic.  She enjoyed her job, but dearly missed directly interacting with patients in the clinic.  We’re lucky she was ready for a change and she by far and above was the top applicant to be a new addition in our clinical department.
In addition, she also manages our clinical inventory and is our instrument specialist. She’s our Eveready bunny that gets a lot of things done behind the scenes.
I’m a Rockford native and love that I’ve been able to return to work in my hometown.  I have two wonderful boys that both play hockey, baseball and golf, so I’m a bit of a sports mom.  I love the outdoors, spending time with family and walks with my lovable labradoodle, Rocky.  My faith and family are what pull me through life.

Renae is a Proven Asset on the Team

  • Deb Kaser
    Treatment Coordinator and Orthodontic Assistant

Deb brings a diverse set of skills, including 20 years of orthodontic assisting experience.  She is a both a licensed Registered Dental Assistant and an Expanded Function Dental Assistant. Furthermore, she has taught dental assisting at the College level, most recently as an adjunct professor at Grand Rapids Community College.  Moreover, she has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration/Marketing from Grand Canyon University in Phoenix.

As both the treatment coordinator and an assistant, she strives to understand patient needs and guide them through the transition into treatment.  In addition, she is our infection control compliance officer, a position she held at GRCC. Most rewarding for her are building relationships with patients, family and the community.
In my free time, I enjoy time with my husband and children along with friends.  I love being outdoors and attending home designer shows. My native state is Ohio, but I’m happy to call beautiful West Michigan my home.  Two of my children attend Rockford High School.
We’re enthusiastic to have Deb be on the team! 

Jeanne has been a dental assistant for the last 15 years of which 13 of them have been in Orthodontics. She obtained her dental assistant training at the Heartlands Institute of Technology. As an assistant she works hard to meet the needs of the patients. Jeanne truly enjoys helping to improve smiles. “It is so rewarding to know that families leave the office happy with their results”.
Outside of the office I enjoy spending time with family, going on vacations and raising/breeding Pug puppies. I’ve been married for 15 years and we have 2 teenage children that keep us busy. Aside from that, my husband and I play coed slow pitch softball in the spring and summer as well as coed volleyball in the winter. For the last 12 years we have resided in the town of Greenville where my children both attend High School.
